Hailstorms crashed through south-east Queensland on Wednesday night, leaving stormchasers exhilarated that spring's wild weather had arrived in the state.

Across Beaudesert and the Gold Coast storms rolled through mid-evening, circling Brisbane city and bringing heavy rain and hail to the west and south.
A severe weather alert was issued about 5pm from Dalby to Stanthorpe, with a 70km/h wind gust recorded at Beaudesert at 5pm.
Reports of hailstones up to three centimetres wide came from the Kooralbyn area while hail crossed from Marburg to Pacific Pines later in the evening.
Tamborine resident Kate Wall took photos from Tamborine Mountain showing the storm building across the valley in the afternoon.
Residents shared their photos and videos of the wild weather online, including hailstones the size of 20¢ coins.
Reporting strong winds across Oxenford and Tamborine, residents said the Gold Coast suburb of Pacific Pines was particularly hard hit as the fast-moving storm rushed through the area with gusty winds and hail.
The wild weather was predicted to continue across the weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology seeing a chance of another severe thunderstorm on Thursday evening for Brisbane.
Storms were also expected on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with fresh winds.
The wild weather sparked reminders for anyone in the path of a severe storm to park cars undercover and move furniture inside, disconnect electrical appliances and listen to weather warnings on the radio or monitor them online.
