Eight charges against the 66-year-old, including official corruption, were listed for a hearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

But defence solicitor Rachel Tierney, along with the prosecution, asked for a three-month adjournment due to “numerous outstanding charges”.

"On the current briefs there is outstanding material," she said.

"There is also recently disclosed material that defence, I believe, need to go through and there is also numerous outstanding charges that the CCC are yet to charge Mr Pisasale with.

"So within a long adjournment hopefully those charges will come forward."

After he swept back into office with 83 per cent of the vote at the 2016 election, CCC officers raided the then-mayor’s council offices in June last year and he resigned the next day, citing health problems.

He was charged with extortion three weeks later, before facing two counts of attempting to pervert justice in August, after allegedly offering to help his former driver get a job in return for recanting allegations.

In October, the CCC laid a further six charges, including the allegation Mr Pisasale took more than $60,000 worth of goods and money intended for charity organisations.

The extortion charge, and two others laid in June, were not listed for mention in court on Monday.

Mr Pisasale was not required to appear. The matters will return to court on July 9.
