A freshly resurfaced road in Annerley has been cut up for gas works just two days after the new bitumen laid, prompting frustration from residents on the street.

The south Brisbane suburb's Gibson Street was resurfaced on Monday, replacing the cracked and damaged old road.
However a resident on the street, who did not wish to be named, expressed frustration at witnessing the same new road being cut into in several locations for gas works on Thursday and Friday.
"They've cut slots through the new bitumen because they're restoring the gas main," the resident said.
"You'd think they'd have some kind of co-ordinated control."
A council spokeswoman said gas works were organised and managed by the utility provider.
"Council published its future road network resurfacing list in the 2018/19 Budget which included Gibson Street, Annerley," she said.
"Council was not notified of the gas works being undertaken in Gibson Street, however, as condition of any works, the utility provider is required to reinstate the surface."
