A nine-year-old girl with head injuries has died after a two-vehicle crash in central Queensland and a six-year-old boy in a critical condition has been flown to the Queensland Children's Hospital.

Five other people were taken to hospital with back, neck and chest pains.
"The first vehicle, a blue Toyota hatchback contained a 40-year-old Emu Park woman, a six-year-old boy and two girls aged nine and ten," police said.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Yeppoon and Artillery roads about 9.30am on Sunday at Ironpot, about 25 kilometres from Rockhampton.
"A 33-year-old woman was driving the second vehicle, a grey Toyota hatchback, with two female passengers aged eight and 12."
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said firefighters freed a child from an SUV after reports of a car being T-boned.
One car had left the road as a result of the impact.
A police spokesman said all patients were taken to Rockhampton Hospital initially.
Paramedics treated one child who had significant head injuries after being freed from a car and a second child with significant head and limb injuries.
Five others were assessed after suffering back, neck and chest pains and taken to hospital.
Police said diversions were in place via Emu Park Road and the road was not expected to reopen for several hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
