On Tuesday last week, police executed a search warrant at an Albany Creek address where a quantity of cannabis, steroids, other controlled drugs and utensils were seized.

Police also found the fibreglass dinosaur, which was returned to Eatons Hill Veterinary Surgery.

Veterinarian Allen O'Grady said it was a bittersweet feeling to have "Steven" the raptor, worth about $6500, back in his possession.

"It's in a pretty terrible condition - it's binged up and broken," he said.

"A lot of clients were very angry and upset about what was stolen because (the surgery is) a well-known landmark with all the dinosaur scultpures at Eatons Hill."

His wife and practice manager, Lindy O’Grady, said she was surprised to see the return of the raptor.

"I wasn’t expecting to have it back, not after all this time," she said.

"It’s in very bad condition, the toes been broken off...but if we can repair him, Steven will be resurrected."

Mrs O'Grady said she credited good police work and the community's effort in joining the search.

"At the time, we posted it on our Facebook... we had people looking out for it," she said.

"People were ringing from the southside calling to tell us they saw it on a balcony or found it in the bush.

"There was a lot of sightings but it was never our dinosaur."

Mrs O'Grady said her husband's passion for dinosaurs had become well known in the community.

"People would ring the practice saying it's time to put the (Christmas) hat on the raptor and take their Christmas photos out the front," she said.

"We even had two couples get married at the surgery because Allen has so many sculptures, it is loved by everyone."

Mrs O'Grady said children adored the surgery for its sculptures and were missing the raptor.

"The children love the dinsosaurs and it was a little fella who had written a note saying he was devestated that Steven was taken against his will," she said.

"He would always say hello to Steven when he was being driven to school."

Mrs O'Grady said she hoped there would be justice for Steven the raptor, with the hope another lost sculpture would return.

"Because of the call but we are still missing a hippo on the run so hopefully it will come back too," she said.

During the raid, two men were charged for the items found at the Albany Creek home.

A 21-year-old was charged with unlawful possession of stolen property, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of controlled drugs and possession of utensils.

He was served a notice to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on October 18.

A 29-year-old was served a notice to appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on October 10 on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils.
