Two separate crashes on the M1 caused heavy delays in the evening rush-hour on Thursday.

The first crash happened about 4.30pm on the southbound side of the motorway in Upper Coomera.
A caller told police that a motorbike and a car had collided near exit 54.
One patient suffered a wrist injury and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
The right lane was closed, but reopened about 5.10pm. However, Australian Traffic Network reporter Ben Mihan said southbound traffic was backed up more than 15 kilometres to Beenleigh at 5.30pm.
Mr Mihan said delays in Coomera finally eased about 6.50pm.
In a separate incident, three vehicles crashed on the northbound side of the M1 about 5pm in Underwood, near the Gateway Motorway exit.
Mr Mihan said the centre lane was blocked, with congestion stretching back more than 10 kilometres to Tanah Merah at 5.30pm.
The Underwood crash cleared and delays in the area eased just after 6.20pm, according to Mr Mihan.
Police said there were no injuries as a result of this collision.
