A 24-year-old man was so angered after he was told off by another man for doing "doughnuts" that he followed the man and fired a gun into the sky, police allege.

The incident allegedly happened after the man was confronted for driving dangerously in the Caboolture area on the afternoon of January 23.

He was then accused of chasing the man onto the Bruce Highway and firing what was believed to be a sawn-off single-barrel shotgun.

Police say the Ford Ranger then left the highway via the Deception Bay off ramp and was spotted again later that night at Elimbah.

After a short police pursuit through Elimbah, Bracalba and D’Aguilar, the car was stopped by a tyre-deflation device.

"Two men got out of the car and fled on foot but were located shortly after at a rural property on Keliher Road," a police spokesman said.

The 24-year-old driver was charged with evasion, gun possession, and driving without a license.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and stalking in relation to matters last year.

A 20-year-old Kallangur man was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and gun possession.

They were both due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.
