Emergency services were called to Aspley after reports a man had been struck by a vehicle about 7.30am on Wednesday.

The incident happened on the corner of Kirby Road and Ellison Road, police said.

The man was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Police set up diversions and urged motorists to avoid the area if possible.

The accident was the second time a Brisbane pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in as many days after a woman was hit by a ute in Chelmer on Tuesday.
