Commuters on Brisbane's northside have been warned to expect hour-long delays after a man was hit by a train on Wednesday night.

Passengers on board the train which hit the pedestrian, a Caboolture line service, were not able to disembark for almost an hour after the collision, a Queensland Rail spokeswoman said.
Emergency services were called to the scene, between Carseldine and Bald Hills stations, about 5.20pm and police quickly stopped trains.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the male patient was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with serious injuries.
Services on the Caboolture, Sunshine Coast and Redcliffe Peninsula lines were suspended in both directions between Zillmere and Petrie stations at 5.40pm.
The QR spokeswoman said the train involved was moved to Geebung station about 6.15pm, allowing passengers to disembark and services to resume in the area.
However, delays of up to 60 minutes were expected and buses were being arranged to clear the backlog of customers, according to the Translink website.
The QR spokeswoman said some services on the Ipswich/Rosewood and Springfield lines had also been delayed by about 30 minutes due to the incident between Bald Hills and Carseldine stations.
