Flicka went missing from her paddock next to the Gregory Development Road, about 115 kilometres north of Charters Towers, on Tuesday.
Her nine-year-old owner was described as "very upset" after saving her money and paying for Flicka herself.
Police from Charters Towers Major and Organised Crime Squad Rural division said concerns were held for the pony's safety as it was "out of character" for her to wander away from her paddock.
Flicka is described as a five-year-old Welsh cross Miniature mare, about 10.2 hands high, white with a brown head, neck and tail with a brown patch on her offside stomach.
Police said Flicka was unbranded, and had a very quiet temperament and was a "much-loved pet".
Anyone who was travelling along the Gregory Development Road on Tuesday, November 27, is asked to contact police.
