Police said a stolen vehicle allegedly drove at high speeds on the Ipswich and Pacific Motorways.

The police helicopter Polair tracked the allegedly stolen vehicle from 9pm after the vehicle entered the Clem 7 tunnel towards Fortitude Valley, making its way across the Story Bridge before diverting back onto the Pacific Motorway.

Police deployed tyre spikes on the motorway at the Logan Road exit, allegedly causing the driver to swerve and then hit a truck.

The car's front tyres were damaged in the collision, which forced the chase to come to a stop at Springwood.

Three girls aged 14, 15 and 17 were taken into custody at the scene while the 16-year-old male driver was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a non-life-threatening head injury.

The driver was later charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, driving without a licence and receiving tainted property.

The girls aged 14 and 15 were charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.
