Queensland Police are launching an internal investigation to determine who leaked information about the Toyah Cordingley murder case to the media.

A News Corp report this week said police were liaising with Interpol and Indian authorities in the investigation of a male nurse who was working at Innisfail Hospital.
Police have said the man was one of several people of interest and the investigation was far from over.
“The Queensland Police Service is continuing to conduct a full and thorough investigation into the death of Toyah Cordingley,” a police spokesman said.
Ms Cordingley is believed to have died at Wangetti Beach on October 21, while walking her dog.
She was reported missing by her boyfriend that day, and her body was found the next morning on the beach.
Ms Cordingley's stepfather Darren Gardiner has slammed the media outlets who reported leaked information from the police investigation.
“I'm totally pissed off with how the media has conducted themselves with regards to current information and no regard for our family and totally understand the QPS [Queensland Police Service] being very disappointed also,” Mr Gardiner wrote on Facebook.
“Every single development in this investigation QPS have come to visit us and give us the best update they can before information goes to media so we can be prepared, they've been totally professional in every regard.”
