Two skydivers have been winched from thick bushland on a mountain in the Whitunsdays after winds disrupted their tandem jump.

A man, in his 30s, believed to be a skydiving instructor, and a female tourist, in her 20s, were still harnessed together after they parachuted into scrub on a mountain near Shute Harbour about 10am on Saturday.
The pilot of their plane called triple zero after the skydivers' landing went awry due to wind gusts and they ended up on the mountain, tangled in trees.
A Mackay-based RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter flew to the scene and prepared to winch the stranded pair after dropping the doctor, paramedic and medical equipment at the nearby Whitsunday Airport, about 1 kilometre away.
The man and woman managed to free themselves from their chutes and walk to a small clearing in the trees.
As the helicopter hovered overhead, a rescue crewman was winched down to secure each patient into an air rescue vest.
They were winched into the helicopter and flown back to the Whitsunday Coast Airport, their original planned landing zone.
The skydive instructor and tourist were uninjured.
