The flight left from Sydney on Thursday afternoon but plane touched down safely in Brisbane just after 2pm, a Brisbane Airport spokeswoman said.
Three female passengers were treated for symptoms related to fumes and transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition, an ambulance spokesman said.
In a statement, a Tigerair Australia spokesperson said the safety and well-being of customers and staff onboard flight TT680 were their top priority.
"In accordance with standard operating procedures, the captain made the decision to divert to Brisbane as a precautionary measure after an odour was detected in the front section of the cabin.
"The aircraft was met on arrival by emergency services as a precautionary measure and all passengers and crew safely disembarked the aircraft at the gate.
"Engineers are currently investigating the potential cause. All customers will be re-accommodated onto alternative services as soon as possible."
The flight crew were also expected to undergo a medical check as a precaution.
