Road Policing Unit officers spotted an allegedly stolen grey Mercedes and a black Commodore parked at traffic light about 12pm on the northern side of Nambour on Friday.

Police activated their lights and both vehicles allegedly sped away, with the Mercedes heading towards Nambour and the Commodore travelling towards Montville and Nambour Hospital.

The police car followed the Mercedes and successfully deployed a stinger on Steve Irwin Way at Beerwah before the car continued on its rims for 37 kilometres at Burpengary.

The Mercedes spun out of control and crossed to the wrong side of the road before colliding with a barrier and another car.

Police said a man allegedly fled the crashed car and tried to steal another vehicle from an elderly woman but was pursued on foot by police and arrested along with a female passenger.

Meanwhile, a police officer on a motorbike pursued the Commodore and came across a three-vehicle car crash, which had just occurred outside of the hospital.

Members of the public alerted the motorcycle officer to a man and girl allegedly fleeing the scene on foot.

The officer chased the man on his bike and arrested the 28-year-old man after a struggle between them, which caused a minor leg injury to the officer.

The 28-year-old Nambour man has been charged with 19 offences, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a hand gun, evading police and possessing dangerous drugs.

He has also been charged with six counts each of entering a premises to commit an indictable offence and receiving tainted property.

A 20-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with 15 offences, including four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and possessing dangerous drugs.

Both men are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on October 27.
