On Sunday morning the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight helicopter was called to a motorcross accident north-west of Brisbane.
A young boy was injured when he came off his motorbike, and was taken to Lady Cilento Children's hospital just after midday in a stable condition.
Later in the afternoon, the same helicopter was called out to bushland west of the Sunshine Coast where another dirt bike rider came off his bike.
The man, in his 20s, was riding with his friends along a 4WD track when he came off his bike and suffered numerous injuries.
A critical-care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic were winched into the bushland to treat him on the scene.
The patient, doctor, paramedics and QAS officers were then taken by ute to a nearby open paddock where the helicopter could land to meet them.
The man was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
