It took five fire crews just under an hour to extinguish the blaze on Chuter Street in Stafford Heights and no one was injured.

Emergency services received multiple triple-zero calls about the house fire at 5am with fire crews arriving to find the home "fully engulfed" in flames, according to a fire service spokeswoman.

One woman was inside the house when the fire broke out but managed to get herself out, a police service spokesman said.

A group of teenagers reportedly ran around neighbouring homes to make sure residents evacuated as the fire took hold.

“We were in the back yard and we saw her (the resident) get out and that’s when we, us three, ran around and knocked on people’s houses to tell them to get out of the house," one of the teenagers, Jacob Wilton-Johnson, told Nine's The Today Show.

"We were at the front at one stage but it just got real hot and we got told to move back by everyone. It just went up real quick.”

Police said officers blocked off Chuter and Burbank streets as fire crews went into action.

A fire investigator was on site and working to determine the cause of the blaze.
