Alleged meth driver busted twice in one night

A BMW driver faces a series of charges after allegedly being caught driving under the influence of drugs twice in the space of three hours.

Police pulled over the black BMW sedan at Melton in Melbourne's north-west about 8.30pm Saturday.

The 28-year-old Brookfield man tested positive for methamphetamine and was fined for driving an unregistered vehicle and banned for driving for 12 hours.

The same man was pulled over by another patrol unit pulled in Melton South around 11.30pm and again tested positive for drugs.

He is due to be charged on summons with a number of traffic related offences.

The Brookfield man will have his samples analysed in a laboratory and faces a $366 fine, and three month suspension of his licence.
