Police called on Friday afternoon for information or dash-cam vision from anyone travelling on Bussell Highway at the time, but the driver of the white car has since has made contact with police after arriving at his destination and becoming aware of the appeal for information.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report information online.

Police also warned on Friday afternoon that the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway was closed in both directions about 35 kilometres north of Norseman after a road train's trailer rolled and blocked the highway around 2pm.

The highway was still closed at 4pm and was expected to be closed for an extended period.

Anyone needing to travel in that area was advised to monitor the Main Roads WA website for updates.
