Crews targeting reef fish off Fremantle and the ground wide of Hillarys, Mindarie and Two Rocks have generally been doing well on dhufish, breaksea cod, pink snapper and baldchin groper.
Schools of pink snapper have been found south of Rottnest Island in 30m to 40m and along Five Fathom Bank.
Packs of small yellowtail kingfish have been patrolling the 5m to 12m depths west of Garden Island and waters extending towards Stragglers.
The odd salmon continues to be caught near Mewstones along with herring and greenback tailor.
Squid catches are improving along the seagrass beds off Fremantle and within Cockburn Sound.
Dozens of pink snapper, and a few mulloway, were caught from the northern and southern rock walls during, and just following, the recent rough weather.
Herring and garfish have been responding well to burley from the rock walls and jetties, which are also producing squid.
Tailor sizes seem be increasing along the metropolitan beaches as well as the coastal stretches just north and just south of the city.
Fremantle Harbour is worth a try for mulloway, especially during the couple of hours either side of a tide change in the evening.
