The ACT government will today announce works for Woden and Tuggeranong, and money for the completion of a project linking Belconnen's town centre to the University of Canberra.

A separated cycle path and verge improvements for Woden along Corinna Street from Furzer Street to Callam Street will receive funding, and the government will widen cycle ways on Melrose Drive and Ball Street.

Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris and Urban Renewal Minister Mick Gentleman said the government would upgrade cycling and pedestrian paths in Tuggeranong from Anketell Street to Lake Tuggeranong via the town square.

It will convert paved areas around the Tuggeranong Arts Centre to grass, and provide new paths linking the Lakeside Leisure Centre with the Lake Tuggeranong shared path.

Tuggeranong will also receive funding to upgrade Anketell Street.

The 2018 budget will have more funding for Labor's election promise to build a bikeway linking the Belconnen town centre, the Lake Ginninderra foreshore, the University of Canberra, Bruce Stadium and the Canberra Institute of Technology Bruce campus.

“These new works will deliver a network that improves the Belconnen town centre and provides better links with suburbs like Bruce, Macquarie, Page and Florey," Ms Fitzharris said.

The money is expected to fund the completion of upgrades linking Belconnen town centre and the University of Canberra, revitalising a disused busway and creating separated cycle ways.

It will also build protected bikeways on Benjamin Way and extend the Lake Ginninderra circuit around the artsACT Belconnen Arts Centre with an overwater boardwalk.

The City Renewal Authority is expected to receive funding to revitalise the Sydney and Melbourne Buildings in Civic, as well as streetscape improvements in Braddon around Haig Park.

It will also get cash for more events across Civic, Dickson and Braddon following the popularity of the pop-up park in Garema Place.

The ACT government is seeking feedback on the initial bike path design for Belconnen.
