Hawke? Howard? Menzies? Where does Scott Morrison fit in?

There is a paradox in the attitude of Australians to political leadership. We rail against government parties replacing their leader mid-term, insisting, contrary to the theory of Westminster government, that these parties should stick with the leader they took to the election which brought them to office. But we don’t necessarily elect the most popular/preferred leader or between elections reward the most popular leader with the lead in the polls that measure the political party contest. Malcolm Turnbull is a clear example of that to his dismay.
