Gladys Berejiklian conceded the NSW election would be tight as she vied to become the state's first popularly-elected female premier, but would not commit to a full term.

Before casting her own vote in her safe Liberal seat of Willoughby, Ms Berejiklian said the result in the knife-edge state poll was "in the hands of the people".
"We know it will be a tight result and it is up to the people of NSW to decide," she said during a breakfast television appearance on Saturday morning.
But when asked if she would stay premier for the full term if the Coalition won, Ms Berejikilian was circumspect.
"I have not thought much about the results, suffice to say it is in the hands of the people," she said on Channel Seven's Sunrise.
Ms Berejiklian cast her vote at Willoughby Public School. "This day comes around every four years, it's a big day for NSW," she said on her way into the school.
Ms Berejiklian said there was a lot at stake but she was looking forward to the outcome.
"NSW deserves to have a government that knows how to run a budget," Ms Berejiklian said.
"I know we also have a job to do in taking the pressure off families and all of this is at stake because the Labor Party want to cancel jobs and put up taxes, and they don't care about the infrastructure projects which will make a difference to the people of this great state."
The premier said she hadn't yet considered what she'll do if forced to seek support from independents and other crossbenchers to form government.
"All I've been focusing on is continuing to deliver for the people of this great state," Ms Berejiklian said.
"Is there more we could have done? Of course, there is but ... I know [NSW] will be much better off if they choose to vote Liberals and Nationals today."
A Keep Sydney Open representative heckled Ms Berejiklian about lockout laws as she approached the crowded entrance to the voting centre.
"Unlock this city, Gladys!" he yelled.
The premier is in no danger of losing her seat, which she holds by a 24.5 per cent margin.
But her hold on government is far weaker, with polls suggesting the Liberal-National coalition will lose its six-seat majority.
In the ultra-marginal seat of East Hills, Ms Berejiklian tucked into a sausage sandwich as she thanked volunteers and met voters with Liberal candidate Wendy Lindsay at Revesby Public School.
"It’s close," Mrs Lindsay said. "It's always been close. But I'm hoping the community get behind me and get us over the line.”
The premier later visited the seat of Heathcote and went to a number of voting centres in the marginal seat of Penrith with MP and Minister for Western Sydney Stuart Ayres.
