Labor has used its majority in Parliament to block opposition moves to set up a select committee to investigate Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk over bribery allegations.

Ms Palaszczuk's actions have been under fire following complaints by Katter's Australian Party Queensland leader Robbie Katter about extra staff being cut from his office.
In August, Ms Palaszczuk said she wanted the KAP to publicly condemn Mr Anning's comments and would be reviewing the party's arrangement for extra staff, which had been granted in 2015 during negotiations with the Palaszczuk administration to form government.
The Queensland KAP members refused and Ms Palaszczuk later ripped up the staffing deal.
The Crime and Corruption Commission said Ms Palaszczuk's comments – if proven – could involve an offence of bribery of a member of Parliament but there was no successful prospect of prosecution.
In Parliament on Wednesday, LNP leader Deb Frecklington attempted to suspend standing orders, so she could then move a motion to set up a select committee on ethics to investigate Ms Palaszczuk on bribery allegations.
However, the attempt was swiftly defeated, with 47 government MPs voting against it, while the Katter's Australian Party's three MPs, Greens MP Michael Berkman and independent Sandy Bolton and One Nation's Stephen Andrew voted with the opposition, totalling 44 votes in support.
On Friday afternoon, Labor Speaker Curtis Pitt referred Ms Palaszczuk to the Parliament's powerful ethics committee to investigate whether she was in contempt over allegations she threatened members of the Katter's Australian Party.
Mr Pitt said there was no prima facie bribery attempt and he was not referring the Premier to the ethics committee for any attempted contempt related to bribery.
The LNP had hoped to create a select committee on ethics to investigate the premier - removing the probe from the ethics committee - which would have the power to call for people, papers and things.
The select committee would have seven members - three appointed by Labor, three appointed by the LNP and one member from the crossbench, who was not a member of KAP.
The Katter's Australian Party and LNP have called for Ms Palsazczuk to stand aside during the ethics committee investigation.
But Ms Palaszczuk said she was not the first premier to be referred to the ethics committee and she did not see a need to stand down.
"Just go back through the history, I'm sure there's plenty. I'm probably in good company," Ms Palaszczuk said on Sunday.
Ms Palaszczuk, former premiers Campbell Newman, Peter Beattie and Anna Bligh have all been referred to the ethics committee in the past, but none of the claims were substantiated.
The Parliament's ethics committee has an equal number of Labor and LNP members.
On Tuesday, Mr Katter called for Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath to refer Ms Palaszczuk to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“I think it was a sloppy mistake by the Premier and we’re all held accountable for those things we do wrong,” he said.
“I think the question here is that is the same level of integrity and standards going to be applied to everyone in this Parliament?”
