Queensland politicians can accept tea and biscuits from property developers but a little Tequila Sunrise with the Eagles would break the law.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland has published its guidelines for councillors and state MPs, following a ban on property developer donations.
Tea, coffee, juice or a modest meal may be offered to an MP or councillor in the course of carrying out their official duties.
"Accepting light refreshment is a basic courtesy," the ECQ advice reads.
Receiving hospitality, perishable food or tickets to a sporting match or cultural entertainment - up to $200 - in the course of carrying out official duties would not be considered a political donation.
MPs and councillors would be allowed to accept hospitality when speaking at a forum, holding a meeting at the Ekka, or meeting with lobby groups, without it being treated as a political donation.
However, accepting tickets to a show such as the Eagles, who will perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in March, would be ruled out, given pricing starts at $299.90.
The ECQ considered the rules in the Queensland Ministerial Handbook, Queensland Parliament's code of ethics and the Queensland Electoral Act when deciding on the guidelines.
Acting Electoral Commissioner Wade Lewis said donors could view the guidelines on the ECQ website.
"ECQ has reached out to councils, MPs and political parties, as well as other stakeholders such as the Property Council, to help them to understand the new laws," he said.
Last year, the Palaszczuk government passed laws that banned property developers from donating to election candidates, third parties, political parties, councillors and state MPs.
The Crime and Corruption Commission, however, said extending the ban to state politicians departed "significantly" from its recommendations following an extensive investigation into local government, known as Operation Belcarra.
The ban was made retrospective to October 12, 2017, meaning property developer donations were banned during the state election campaign.
Knowingly making or accepting a political donation from a prohibited donor could result in a fine of up to $52,220 or two years in jail.
The ECQ administers and enforces the laws.
