John Worsfold joins AFL's laws committee

West Coast's 2006 premiership coach John Worsfold heads a list of four appointments to the AFL's laws of the game committee.

Worsfold, whose 12-year stint as Eagles' coach ended in 2013, also captained the club in their 1992 and 1994 flag-winning campaigns.

AFL umpiring director Wayne Campbell, umpiring coach Hayden Kennedy and Collingwood's 1990 premiership fullback Michael Christian have also been appointed to the committee.

They replace former umpiring officials Jeff Gieschen and Rowan Sawers, Richmond great Kevin Bartlett and Brisbane's new head of coaching and development Peter Schwab.

The league's football operations manager Mark Evans thanked the departing committee members for their enormous contributions.

AFL Hall of Fame Legend Bartlett is stepping down after 20 years of service on the laws committee.

Another Richmond great, ex-forward Matthew Richardson, has joined the All Australian selection panel.
