Koby Stevens has left the West Coast Eagles for the Bulldogs in exchange for pick 44 in the draft.
The midfielder nominated the Bulldogs as his club of choice last week, wanting a move back home to Victoria.
Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney says Stevens is a welcome addition to the Bulldogs' developing midfield stocks.
''Koby is a high-quality person, with outstanding training habits and will add depth to the club's midfield,'' McCartney said.
"His big strong body along with a terrific attitude to his football make him a great acquisition to our Football Club."
Stevens struggled to break into the Eagles side, due to injury and West Coast's strong midfield.
Taken at pick 23 in the 2009 draft, Stevens played 11 games for the Eagles over three seasons.
Essendon and St Kilda had also showed interest in the 21-year-old.
