But from the controversy of game two to the thrill of winning it in front of a sell-out at home, the Canberra Capitals guard will be armed with plenty of content when she rolls back into the classroom this week.

Wilson is weighing up her future in the WNBL having moved into fourth on the WNBL's all-time games played rankings with 376 - above her are Jess Bibby (394), Rachael Sporn and Lucille Bailie (377).

The prospect of cracking the 400-game barrier is very real but for now the 34-year-old will take her head out of the hardwood and into the books.

"I’m straight back to work, straight back to school. I’ll head back to Bendigo on Monday or Tuesday and head straight back to work," Wilson said.

"We’ll wait and see if any of them have watched it. I feel really lucky that I have a solid job in Bendigo that I love doing and a really supportive husband. I have really enjoyed my time here.

"It’s one of those things where I just have to think about it at the end of the season. It’s a bit hard, not necessarily on my marriage, but I leave my husband behind every time I leave home so we’ll have a chat about it and see how we go.

"I like to be busy so I’ll probably play the off-season in Bendigo as well."

Capitals coach Paul Goriss has made no secret of his desire to keep the core of this group together in search of another Capitals dynasty and Wilson will likely form part of those initial plans.

But if this is it, Wilson couldn't go out on a better note.

She was rejuvenated by a title with the Townsville Fire last season and the prospect of chasing one more in Canberra alongside former teammate Kelsey Griffin convinced her to move south.

Wilson finished the season by collecting her fourth ring in her new adopted home, with a spine-tingling atmosphere engulfing the sold-out AIS Arena.

The buzz around the arena will go down as one of the best moments of Wilson's career, an occasion added to after Canberra were denied the chance to cut the net behind enemy lines a few days earlier.

"It feels absolutely amazing, considering the crowd we had, Canberra really came out in full force," Wilson said.

"[The crowd was] absolutely crazy and it’s one of the reasons why we got that lead on the board, especially in that fourth quarter.

"We knew what it was like to play in Adelaide when they had a full house, so our support was absolutely phenomenal."
