For the most part it was, but not quite everything went off without a hitch according to Sixers and ACT Meteors all-rounder Erin Burns.

"We just sung the team song twice because we the first one we kind of felt like we could improve on," Burns laughed.

The Sixers thrashed the Perth Scorchers by nine wickets to secure a second straight WBBL crown at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

"There's plenty of drinks flowing and everyone is passing around the cup. It's pretty ecstatic [in the rooms], we've had an awesome year together," Burns said.

"On the roll into the final we've really had some good form so to play well together on the big stage when it matters, it's been unreal."

While many of her teammates were celebrating their second straight WBBL triumph, the victory was extra sweet for Burns, who claimed 2-26 (4) in a brilliant bowling effort.

Two seasons in Hobart left the 29-year-old with a feeling of 'close, but no cigar', so finally getting her hands on the trophy was "unreal".

The off-spinning all-rounder left behind a glittering career in Tasmania to join the Meteors for the WNCL season, and now she has clinched a title alongside ACT and Sixers teammate Angela Reakes.

"Most of these girls have won two in a row, but for me personally, I've played the majority of my cricket in recent years with Tasmania," Burns said.

"We made the semi with Hobart Hurricanes for the last two years but never to a final and certainly never to win one. To get all the way and finish first at the end of the day, it's awesome.

"It's a bit of a surreal experience for me, having quite a few friends and family down here supporting, making the trip down to Adelaide, it's been amazing."

Burns was ice cool with the ball but it was comeback hero Sarah Coyte that took player of the match honours for her 3-17 (4).

Coyte played a starring role late in the season after being lured out of retirement to fill the void left by Burns' ACT teammates Dane van Niekirk and Marizanne Kapp, who are on South African duty.

With Perth folding for 99, Sixers stars Alyssa Healy (41), Ellyse Perry (36 not out) and Ashleigh Gardner (22 not out) made light work of the run chase and cruised past the target with five overs to spare.

"They're obviously two of the best cricketers in the world at the moment, so [in] losing them we knew that we were going to have to step up [amongst] the rest of the girls and really try and fill the void," Burns said.

"Obviously Sarah Coyte, getting three-for and getting player of the match, she played exceptional and filled that void where Kappie was in the seamers department.

"We just managed to hold it together and scrap where we could to try and fill that spot where Dane was taking wickets left, right and centre.

"It's been an awesome all-round effort and it was great to have everyone else step up when the 'Saffers' went home.

"I don't think it could have gone any more to plan if we tried really."

Burns is on the money, and not even a poorly performed victory song is going to dampen this party.
