Hosking couldn't contain her excitement when she crossed the line to claim gold in the 112.2 kilometre road race at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April.
The win on home soil will go down as one of the greatest moments of Hosking's career and now she finds herself in a stacked field of 12 hopefuls gunning for the moment of the year award.
Hosking found herself in hospital after she crashed in the Tour of Flanders a day before flying back to Australia to hook into her Commonwealth Games preparations.
