Porsche rookie excited to take on overseas racers in Carrera Cup

Taking on the best in Australia was hard enough, now Canberra Porsche racecar driver Cameron Hill is set to face the best in Asia in a Carrera Cup showdown.

Hill believes the Carrera Cup Australia versus Asia event will elevate the championship to another level when the best in the region do battle at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

Australian and Asian drivers will compete separately in the weekend’s opening two races, before going head-to-head on Saturday evening.

“One of the things I’m most looking forward to is racing at night; I’ve done plenty of laps around Sydney Motorsport Park, but never raced there in the dark," Hill said.

“It’s good to be racing at a venue where we have experience with the car, and don’t have to learn the track; in saying that, everyone else has tested there as well so I don’t necessarily think it will be an advantage."

"I’m looking forward to throwing on some fresh tyres this weekend and seeing how our outright pace stacks up.  It will be spectacular for both drivers and spectators.”
