Pink is playing nine shows in Sydney later this year and has booked out the 17,500-capacity venue for the first weekend of Super Netball semi-finals on August 11 and 12 and for two recently added concerts a fortnight later which would clash with the competition's grand final.

Finishing first or third on the Super Netball ladder earns a team the right to host a home final, while the winner of the major semi final hosts the decider two weeks later.

The preliminary final is hosted by the loser of the major semi-final and is played against the winner of the third-versus-fourth playoff match.

Qudos Bank Arena is potentially available for a preliminary final should the Swifts or Giants be required to host that match. It falls in between Pink's concert dates and just days after pop star Katy Perry performs at the venue.

Sydney's International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour offers a potential alternative for any required finals hosting duties, although the venue has never hosted a Super Netball fixture and can only host about 7500 spectators.

The Giants will play their round 10 and round 14 home matches at the ICC to test its capabilities as a netball venue but it would likely prove too small given the pulling power of the two Sydney clubs.

More than 9500 fans piled into the Qudos Bank Arena in round one for a double header while organisers are hoping Sunday's derby between the Swifts and Giants pulls a crowd close to 10,000.

Netball NSW officials met with Qudos Bank Arena and ICC staff this week in a bid to nut out post-season venue availability options.

A Super Netball semi-final is second in the priority line at the ICC for the weekend of August 11 and 12 and the venue could also potentially host a grand final if required.

The fallback option for the first week of the finals would be the 4500-capacity Quaycentre at Olympic Park, which hosted the Giants' minor semi-final win over Collingwood last year.

But that venue is not available should it be required for a grand final.

"They are working really hard to try and see if they can get an option for us at the ICC," Netball NSW chief Carolyn Campbell said.

"The thing that disappoints me when it comes to finals venues is it should be a home advantage if that's the way you're going to play it.

"I'd question how much advantage we'd have as a home court at the ICC. At least we're in Sydney and the crowds can come. We've delibrately taken the games there because we have to actually see how it works."

Netball NSW is continuing to lobby the state government for an upgrade to the tennis centre next door as a temporary solution to the shortage of suitably sized Super Netball venues in Sydney.

Tennis NSW is also keen for an upgrade to Ken Rosewall Arena, which would include the construction of a roof over its main court which would cater for a crowd of about 10,000.

That would be the perfect size to accommodate a Sydney netball audience and would also increase the Harbour City's chances of hosting the ATP's proposed World Team Cup.

Ultimately both parties would like to see a brand new purpose-built indoor centre constructed with the capability of hosting a range of different sports and events.
