Speight is set to be ruled out when coach Dan McKellar names his team on Thursday for the clash against the Waikato Chiefs.
Chance Peni and Lausii Taliauli have been jostling for an opportunity to join Andy Muirhead on the wing, while NRL convert Tom Wright could also come into selection contention.
Taliauli has been hampered by a knee injury and the Brumbies could opt to take a cautious approach with his recovery given it's just the second week of the season.
The Brumbies will be desperate to topple the Chiefs given they lost the opening game of the year against the Melbourne Rebels and face a daunting trip to Wellington next week.
The club is offering a $5 ticket for fans who arrive early in the afternoon to watch the first game of the Super W campaign when the Brumbies play against the NSW women's side.
It is hoped the chance to watch two games for $5 will entice supporters to get to the ground after 8500 watched a taxing round-one game against the Rebels.
Almost 1000 fans took advantage of a similar early-bird special last year, with the Brumbies women playing just two home games during the short Super W season.
Brumbies playmaker Wharenui Hawera stands to gain the most from the double-header schedule, with his fiancee Ngawai Eyles to make her Super W debut in the early game.
Eyles, a former Canberra Giants netballer, made the switch to rugby union last year as part of the University of Canberra sevens program.
The New Zealand couple moved to Canberra when Hawera signed a deal with the Brumbies two years ago.
