The Canberra Vikings kicked off and then it all went Ah Wong for the Sydney Stars.
They were never in the contest as they capitulated to the Canberra Vikings 76-16 in their National Rugby Championship clash at Viking Park on Thursday night.
Vikings centre Nigel Ah Wong crossed for a lazy four tries, with powerful No.8 Ita Vaea also picking up a brace.
Flyhalf Christian Lealiifano showed he's flying if Wallabies coach Michael Cheika needs him, with No.12 Rodney Iona and Vaea also brilliant.
Ah Wong couldn't remember when he'd last had a four-try haul as he looked to press his claims to break into the ACT Brumbies backline next year.
"Not in a while, mate, that's the first time in ages, so it will probably be another while before I get another four as well," Ah Wong said.
"We've got Wallabies everywhere [in the Brumbies backline], but it's also a good thing as well to learn off the experienced boys, even [former Brumby Francis Fainifo] coming back and also Christian slotting in after his week off."
Second against third gave the false impression it would be a tight tussle, but it didn't take long before the only thing in doubt was whether the Vikings could bring up the century and whether the Stars were going to trouble the scorers.
The home team rattled in six first-half tries, Vaea and Ah Wong both crossing twice before half-time.
And by the break, Robbie Abel and Isaac Thompson had also added their names to the score sheet.
The Vikings held an emphatic 42-0 lead as they went to the sheds.
Things didn't get much better for the Stars when they ran back out.
It took James Dargaville just two minutes to increase the Vikings' lead when he dove over in the corner.
Then a miracle occurred — the Stars scored — with outside centre Jim Stewart breaching the Vikings line to avoid a shutout.
Normal transmission resumed shortly after and Ah Wong finished off exactly how he started.
The Vikings travel to face the North Harbour Rays in Sydney next Saturday.
