Sydney will host six matches of next year's inaugural FIH Pro League while Melbourne and Hobart will also be confirmed as venues for the international competition on Tuesday.

Each fixture in the Harbour City will be played at Sydney’s Olympic Park Hockey Centre in March, beginning on March 2 when the Hockeyroos will play the United States and the Kookaburras will host Spain.
Two weeks later the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras will both play Argentina and New Zealand before heading overseas for their last eight matches.
The new league, which launches in January next tear, pits the top nine hockey nations in men's and women's hockey against each other in a home and away league format
“It is very exciting to be hosting some of the world’s best hockey players here at Sydney Olympic Park next year," Hockey NSW chief executive David Thompson said.
"It will be an amazing opportunity for the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos to play in front of a packed-out home crowd and in a prime-time television spot.
"Pro League will be the perfect curtain raiser for the 2019 hockey season and a great way to attract more young players to our sport."
Hockey Australia chief Matt Favier added: “There will be plenty on the line in every match and we expect the Pro League concept to garner great support around the country, which is why we’re spreading our fixtures out around Australia.
“It’s exciting to have Hobart host international hockey for the first time since 2015, while we’re
thrilled to once again bring elite international hockey in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.”
