The success of three different teams in three different formats suggests Cricket ACT's representative pathways are in a very promising place.

ACT/Southern Districts secured their spot in the Cricket NSW country championships final with a gripping 18-run win over Newcastle at Berry Sports Complex on Sunday.

ACT/Southern's ticket to the final means they have become the region's second representative team to reach the next level in the past fortnight, after the Aces powered their way into the Cricket NSW Twenty20 Regional Bash semi-finals to be played on December 2.

It comes as the Comets look to continue their unbeaten start to their four-day Futures League campaign against Victoria at the Junction Oval beginning on Monday.

ACT/Southern will meet Central Coast in the NSW country championship final at Bradman Oval on November 25 after defending a meagre 130 against Newcastle to complete a clean sweep of the pool stage.

ACT/Southern had opened their country championships campaign with a five-wicket win over Greater Illawarra at Hayden Drexel Oval on Friday.

Djali Bloomfield's remarkable spell (3-8) held Greater Illawarra to 152 before Josh Watling (49 not out) and Scott Murn (37 not out) saw ACT/Southern home.

Riverina were next on the hit list, with Tom Vane Tempest's 91 steering ACT/Southern to a dominant 50-run victory at the Berry Sports Complex on Saturday.

Former Ginninderra quick Cameron Suidgeest has shifted to Wodonga this season and his insider trading helped him to snag 5-51, but it wasn't enough to secure a win for the Riverina.
