Western District-UC all-rounder Ethan Bartlett has claimed the DB Robin Medal as Cricket ACT's men's player of the year following a stellar individual season.
Bartlett scored 1032 runs including four centuries and claimed 53 wickets in 22 games for Wests this summer in a staggering run of consistent form.
"Mate he's playing a different game. Just on a whole other level, there are not too many blokes around that can do what he does," Bartlett's teammate Matt Condon said earlier this season.
"Nothing he does surprises me, he's done it for a number of years, he's getting on a bit at 34 now but he just keeps bettering himself.
"It's great for the club because our juniors really look up to him, they can see the pathway is there and they all want to be Ethan Bartlett."
Bartlett's triumph capped off a massive night for Wests with women's player Cherie Taylor claiming the SJ Moore Medal for Cricket ACT's women's player of the year.
As far as individual campaigns go, they do not get much better than the one Taylor enjoyed to mark Wests' 50th anniversary with another women's premiership.
A grand final century took Taylor's record for the season to 691 runs in 13 matches at the Bradmanesque average of 98.71 throughout the season.
Katie Mack claimed the Calver Medal as the ACT Meteors player of the year following her impressive WNCL campaign at the top of the order (182 runs from six games).
Canberra export Blake Macdonald claimed the Solway Medal as the ACT/NSW Country Comets player of the year having solidified his place in the Futures League side's middle order.
Tim Floros claimed the aptly named Floros Medal as the ACT Rockets indoor player of the year after steering the blue and gold to another national championship.
Cricket ACT launched its Hall of Fame with Peter Solway, Greg Irvine, Bronwyn Calver, Michael Bevan, Glenda Hall and Lorne Lees securing their place in Canberra cricket folklore as the inaugural inductees.
