Police are searching for the owner of a collection of World War I medals found last month in a garden in the Moreton Bay region.

The collection, which includes a First Light Horse Brigade medal, was handed into the Redcliffe police station in late May by a member of the public.
The medals were found in a garden near the Redcliffe Hospital car park and police said so far they had not found the rightful owner.
According to the Australian War Memorial, the 1st Light Horse Brigade was the first mounted formation committed by Australia to the First World War.
