The bikes available for Canberra's public servants have proved a hit, clocking 2500 kilometres between them since they were introduced in August last year.
ACT sustainability minister Shane Rattenbury said 150 government staff had been inducted on how to use the bikes, which were touted for their health benefits.
"The use of e-bikes helps reduce costs such as taxi fares, car parking, bus fares and fleet running costs as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions," Mr Rattenbury said.
"Not surprisingly records indicate that most journeys are between Dickson and Civic or Barton, making the most of Canberra's bikepath network."
Mr Rattenbury said other government directorates were considering purchasing e-bikes as more staff become comfortable using them.
