Canberra Fashion blogger Janette Lenk was selected to be one of the faces to launch the UN Women National Committee Australia's purple scarf to mark International Women's Day, which took place on Wednesday.

The scarf was a collaboration with the label Esprit and is available in stores and online now.

All proceeds from the sale of the scarves will go to helping prevent violence against women and girls in the Pacific.

Julie McKay, head of the UN Women NC Australia, says the Pacific region is the "epicentre" for violence against females.

Janette spent International Women's Day modelling the new Esprit 2017 Autumn/Winter collection.

For her individual photo she was asked to style the scarf and did so in a creative way.

"I love pushing style boundaries – naturally, I am a little edgy in the way I dress," she said.

"Styling it the way I had – shows people how they can experiment too".

Janette said the cause had a personal meaning for her.

"Someone close to me has suffered from abuse and it's not ok," she said.

"I felt so empowered to be standing next to other Australian women bloggers, such an amazing opportunity

"By far, this has been biggest achievement in my blogging career."
