A 22-year-old woman will face court after failing to stop for police investigating an illegal drag racing meet near Point Hut Crossing on Thursday night.

Police reported up to 60 cars had lined the intersection of Paddy's River Road and Tidbinbilla Reserve Road at about 9.45pm with headlights on illuminating the road.

After approaching a Holden SS Commodore, the vehicle sped away, with the rear of the car losing control and forcing police officers to move aside to avoid being hit.
The female driver of the Commodore was found in the area a short time later, with police seizing the car she was driving and serving her a summons to appear in court for failing to stop.
Investigations are continuing.
