A landslide has closed one eastbound lane of the Snowy Mountains highway on Brown Mountain.

Drivers travelling to or from the south coast along the highway have been advised to exercise caution and reduce speed in the area.
Roads and Maritime Services was notified of the landslip on Brown Mountain on Monday afternoon shortly after 3.00pm.
"The eastbound lane was closed with traffic control in place for the safety of motorists," a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
"A geotechnical engineer is carrying out a further assessment to determine repairs required and staff remain on site."
Heavy rain has been easing on the south coast, southern tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Illawarra, after up to 60 millimetres was forecast overnight for some areas.
The community can report road incidents to the Transport Management Centre on 131 700. Calls are transferred through a general inquiry line and not recorded.
