Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber suffered stab wounds so severe they were visible on the opposite side of his body, a court has heard.

An autopsy, performed after he was killed on Boxing Day in 2013, revealed he died after three of the 73 stab wounds he suffered severed both carotid arteries.
Mr Sofer-Schreiber lay dead on the floor of his Lyneham home until friends found him and called paramedics two days later.
Christopher David Navin, 29, is accused of his murder, but has pleaded not guilty due to mental impairment.
It is common ground between the Crown and defence that Navin caused Mr Sofer-Schreiber's death.
The court has previously heard the men had a passion for punk rock music and had a good relationship for much of the time they lived together at the Hall Street unit in 2013.
During their cohabitation, Mr Sofer-Schreiber would appear on Navin's music podcast which they recorded in the unit's garage.
It is alleged that Navin murdered Mr Sofer-Schreiber in revenge after the pair's time as housemates ended acrimoniously.
The court has previously heard evidence Navin seemed to downplay the split in the months afterwards.
Navin stared at the floor for much of the graphic evidence as his ACT Supreme Court murder trial entered its second week.
The court on Monday began to hear evidence from forensic pathologist Dr Michael Burke, who performed the autopsy.
Dr Burke said his examination revealed Mr Sofer-Schreiber suffered incised and stab injuries to his neck, back, and left side.
The court was shown a small abrasion on Mr Sofer-Schreiber's chest which Dr Burke explained had been caused by a deep stab wound in his back that had "gone all the way through".
Jurors also heard evidence from a crime scene investigator who specialised in blood spatter and patterns.
The court was shown a number of crime scene pictures that showed blood on a table, bench seat, window, vertical blinds, cabinet, and floor.
The unsworn Australian Federal Police investigator described how the blood covered an area in the corner of the dining room, and had been spread by either cast off, impact, or arterial movement..
The investigator also said flow patterns on the victim's jeans indicated he had been upright at some point during the attack.
Much of the blood had pooled under the victim's horizontal body.
Luminescence – which allows hard-to-see blood become visible – of the scene showed footprints moving away from where the body was found towards the kitchen.
The autopsy evidence continues on Tuesday.
