Alex Bourne, 27, was due to stand trial in the ACT Supreme Court on Monday on charges of aggravated robbery, threatening harm, and assault.
But the trial was abandoned when Bourne pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The other charges were dropped.
The prosecution and defence are yet to tender an agreed statement of facts in the court.
The victim of the assault was thought to have crashed Michael David Reece's uninsured motorcycle in October, 2013, leaving a $16,000 repair bill.
Bourne and Reece – both members of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang – lured the man to a meeting in the Gungahlin town centre in January last year.
The bikies then assaulted the man over the unpaid debt.
The matter will return to court in May.
