The Brumbies have set their sights on redemption against defending Super Rugby champions the NSW Waratahs after inflicting a 29-0 defeat on the struggling Reds on Saturday night.

But Gill's brain explosion in the second half caught everyone off guard when he picked up White, flipped him over his head in a wrestling-style suplex and put the Brumbies scrumhalf in a dangerous position.

Gill was sent to the sin bin, prop Ben Alexander scored through the hole created by Gill's moment of madness and the Brumbies scored another try in his absence.

But Larkham said the Brumbies would pursue further action, opting to cite Gill for his actions which will likely see him front the judiciary and face a lengthy suspension.

"We're going to cite that. I guess he got a yellow card in the game, but for us it was more dangerous than that," Larkham said.

"Whitey was a little bit winded ... It's just a reckless, dangerous infringement. What concerned me was that Whitey was upside down, he was thrown to the ground, he's a halfback and he's meant to be protected."

Gill's impending hearing adds more pain to the embattled Reds, who failed to score a point in a Super Rugby match for the first time since 2006.

Even Reds coach Richard Graham was left shocked by Gill's actions.

"I don't know what [Gill] was attempting to do. I could see White over the ball, but probably not the cleanest of clear-outs, probably something more out of WWE," Graham said.

The Reds were no match for the Brumbies. The Queensland side has scored just 39 points this season while leaking 29 against the Brumbies without seriously threatening to get across the line themselves.

It sets up a huge clash between the Brumbies and Waratahs in Sydney next weekend, with the ACT side still stinging from their semi-final loss to their arch rivals last year.

The Waratahs hammered the Brumbies in the grand final qualifier last year on their way to an inaugural championship.

The Brumbies are also expected to be bolstered by the return of former Wallabies skipper David Pocock, who Larkham said was "itching" to comeback from an ankle injury.

"We said before the game it was going to be a danger game for us, but we stuck to our game plan and kept playing. We've got our biggest game of the year next Sunday," said Brumbies captain Stephen Moore.

"It always is a big challenge against the Waratahs in Sydney and we haven't done well there in recent years. I'm really happy to get the four tries and to keep them to nil, job done."

Prop Ben Alexander scored a double, which will hit him in the pocket to the tune of about $3000 as the bar he part-owns with teammate Scott Fardy, The Dock in Kingston, shouts patrons a drink every time either gets across the line.

Brumbies skipper Moore scored a try in his 136th Super Rugby match as the hooker equalled George Gregan as the fourth most capped Australian player in the competition's history.

"Benny A's got three tries in two weeks, his pub will be going under," Moore said.

"We get an opportunity to play the Waratahs and this is our biggest game of the year, it should be a big occasion. With Dave Pocock coming back it's a bit of a headache for [Larkham]."

Ita Vaea and Christian Lealiifano completed the rout.

Queensland coach Richard Graham is certain to come under more scrutiny as he waits for the cavalry to arrive.

Karmichael Hunt, Quade Cooper, Rob Simmons, James O'Connor and Greg Holmes are all out of action as the Reds cope with more than 600 caps worth of experience sitting on the sidelines.

But seven of those players are expected to be back for their next game.

The Brumbies scrambled in the dying minutes to keep a clean sheet and Larkham praised his team's defence.

"We didn't start particularly well, our energy was right down. We failed to execute in the first half, but we turned it around at half-time," Larkham said.

"Defensively it was unbelievable ... just the discipline and desperation on the line was something to be very proud of.

"We know next week is going to be really difficult, the Waratahs in Sydney are always difficult. They're the champions, that's something that you have to consider going into it."

The Reds muscled up for the first 20 minutes and tried to belt the visitors, but their territory and possession dominance came to nothing after the first waves, and the Brumbies needed only half an invitation to inflict more pain on the embattled club.

The Reds had a chance to cut the margin to four points just after half-time, but fourth-string five-eighth Nick Frisby missed two relatively easy penalties.
