Bronwyn Bishop blunders on burqas

Bronwyn Bishop knows a thing or two about diktat, having expelled more than 200 Labor members from the House of Representatives in just the first year of the Abbott government. However, it was the Speaker herself who was pulled up short this week by Tony Abbott, who ruled Ms Bishop's proposal to sequester niqab-wearing visitors to Parliament out of bounds after it had provoked widespread protest and ridicule.
