Police have appealed for anyone who saw the collision, including with dash-cam footage, to get in touch.
ACT Policing said that it happened at about 7.50am when a motorcycle and a maroon Isuzu dual cab utility towing an enclosed box trailer collided at the corner of Barry Drive and Boldrewood Street.
The motorcycle rider was treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene and subsequently taken to hospital.
ACT Policing's collision investigation team are investigating the incident.
A spokeswoman for the ACT Emergency Services Agency said they did not know if the motorcycle rider was a man or a woman.
Police were still at the scene after 9am redirecting traffic near the site of the accident, with roadblocks for drivers still in place.
They said, "Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website." Information would be treated in confidence and could be given anonymously.
