The search near Warra Warra Road, on the eastern side of the Princes Highway at Nowra, was part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Ms Baker from Parramatta.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Boutcher have been searching for the 30-year-old since she was last seen at her Parramatta home in the early hours of January 4.
Detectives, officers from the dog unit, the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), Operations Support Group (OSG) and the marine command were at the scene from Tuesday. They continued the search on Wednesday morning.
The operation led to the closure of the Nowra Rifle Range which is located at the eastern end of Warra Warra Road.
James Hachem, 32, described by police as an "acquaintance" of Ms Baker has been charged with the murder of Ms Baker, but her body has not been found.
CCTV captured the pair in an elevator together at the Vibe Hotel in North Sydney, two days before the 30-year-old vanished.
Police allege after killing Ms Baker, Mr Hachem put her body in the boot of his car and drove to his family's house at Hurstville Grove about 7am on January 4.
He then drove to Hurstville Westfield and parked his car about 9am.
It will also be alleged Mr Hachem then went to the nearby MTC recruitment agency while Ms Baker's body remained in the car.
Mr Hachem left Hurstville Westfield about 3pm and returned home allegedly with cleaning products he had bought.
Police allege he drove to a rural area later that night with garbage bags in the car and disposed of her body.
Despite the alleged circumstantial evidence against him, police have not been able to determine how or why Ms Baker was killed or where her body is.
Clues have previously led police to Goulburn where a search was undertaken at a rest stop but the search has provided no breakthrough for her heartbroken family.
