The esteemed Brisbane venue's injury ward is overflowing and it may have claimed a major casualty in Canberra Raiders winger Jordan Rapana.
The Raiders star was helped from the field after collapsing in open space with a knee injury during their 30-24 loss to the Sydney Roosters at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
Rapana seemed as though he had been hit by a sniper in the stands when he hit the deck early in the second half in what early indications suggest is a posterior cruciate ligament tear.
Recovery time for a PCL injury not requiring surgery is often about six to eight weeks, however a reconstruction would signal the end of Rapana's season.
His absence would rob Canberra of their two major strike weapons given they are already missing his inside man in Joey Leilua, who is unlikely to feature again this year after undergoing neck surgery.
It is another headache for a side already trying to cover international duo John Bateman and Joe Tapine in the forward pack.
But Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is confident his side can manage to stay in the hunt for the top four, even with a makeshift right edge and forward pack.
"I know where we are as a squad. With the quality of player we've got sitting on the sideline at the moment, and it looks like another one now in Jordan, if we can just notch up a couple of wins here or there and keep punching until they all come back, it's doing two things," Stuart said.
"We're getting a fresh footy team at the back end of the season and we're getting a lot of experience for young players who I think are still learning how to play NRL.
"I've got guys out there who still haven't played double figure games in the NRL. From a coaching point of view, that's a positive.
"I would still like them to be learning a little bit more with these senior players that are out in front of them. That's not the case, so we'll just work with what we've got, those boys didn't let us down."
In comparison to their ladder-leading rivals, the Green Machine got off lightly on the final day of a round they will remember as anything but magic.
The Roosters finished the game without Boyd Cordner (concussion) and Daniel Tupou (neck) - and it once seemed things would go further south.
Latrell Mitchell hobbled from the field with a groin/hip injury in the first half, moments after scoring his second try in six minutes.
The look on his face would have been enough to make even Brad Fittler's heart race but the NSW Blues incumbent soon returned to the paddock.
