It's understood Munster is keen to speak with the World Cup and Super Rugby-winning flyhalf as they search for a new back-line mentor.
Larkham was sacked by Wallabies coach Michael Cheika at the start of this year in a shake-up before the World Cup, but it's understood several overseas clubs are keen to try to lure him abroad.
The former ACT Brumbies playmaker has been working with Rugby Australia and its professional programs since leaving Cheika's team, helping guide the junior Wallabies before they beat the New Zealand under-20s last month.
It is expected Larkham will speak to Munster in the coming weeks after speculation he was on a shortlist to join the club's coaching staff
The Canberra Times understands Larkham has been targeted by several overseas clubs after he was sacked by Wallabies coach Michael Cheika at the start of this year. Larkham has since been working with Rugby Australia and its professional programs, including helping guide the junior Wallabies before they beat the New Zealand under-20s team last month.
It is expected Larkham will speak to Munster in the coming weeks after speculation he was on a shortlist to join the club's staff to join head coach Johann van Graan.

Larkham led the Brumbies to the Super Rugby finals in every one of his seasons as the club's head coach before Cheika convinced him to leave his Super Rugby job to become a full-time Wallabies assistant.
The Wallabies are yet to announce Larkham's replacement, despite the World Cup starting in Japan in September. Matt Giteau has been linked to the role, but Rugby Australia has not made a decision on who will be the architect of the Wallabies' attack.
World Cup hopefuls will be pulled into a Wallabies camp in Brisbane next week to continue Cheika's planning for the tournament, which starts with a pool match against Fiji on September 21.
The Brumbies are expected to have a large chunk of players invited to the planning camp, including injured back-rowers David Pocock and Rob Valetini. Christian Lealiifano has been included, but Pete Samu has missed out on being a part of the squad. Pocock hasn't played since re-injuring his calf in March, and the Brumbies will be monitoring his Wallabies workload given his injury struggles.
Pocock initial injured his calf at a Wallabies camp in January, which has been a source of tension given all Australian Super Rugby clubs agreed to release players for extra Test sessions this season.
Pocock has played just three games for the Brumbies so far this year, although it is hoped he will be fit to play against the Pretoria Bulls at Canberra Stadium next week.
Valetini is also nearing a return to Super Rugby after missing the past two months with a knee injury.
The Brumbies are at the top of the Australian conference, but could lose their place if the Melbourne Rebels beat the Bulls on Friday night. Australia's top team will be guaranteed a place in the Super Rugby finals, and the return of Pocock, Valetini, Rory Arnold and Lachlan McCaffrey will give the Brumbies a timely boost.
All four are expected be in selection contention next week, despite the Brumbies having just one full day of training before the clash against the Bulls. The Brumbies have won their past five home games in a row and have won four of their past five games to revive their season and give them a chance to return to the finals after missing out last year.
Meanwhile, the Brumbies re-signed young duo Noah Lolesio and Len Ikitau on Thursday as they keep one eye on the coming seasons. Lolesio has signed his first professional contract, while Ikitau has committed until at least the end of 2021.
